It's the elasmosaur's birthday once again.
Last year, over 300 people attended this event. This year the old fossil will be 80 million and 24 years old.
To celebrate this and other wonderful discoveries, the Courtenay Museum will host a birthday party this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Expect cake-cutting at noon, cookies, juice, crafts and more.
Come see new exhibits, some of which are still under construction.
There will be dinosaur movies on the big screen all day. Bring your fossils for identification.
Admission to the museum is by donation and is located at 207 Fourth St. in the old post office building downtown Courtenay. Call 250-334-0686 for more information, or check out the museum website at courtenaymuseum.ca.
