Comox Valley stars coming out for CVCDA’s Chili and Denim fundraiser evening

Enjoy an amazing evening of fun, food and live entertainment at the inaugural “Chili and Denim” fundraiser evening in support of the new Autism Centre of Excellence at the Comox Valley Child Development Association (CVCDA).

The event takes place on May 27 at the Filberg Centre.

In partnership with the Georgia Strait Big Band, the evening will feature some of the Comox Valley and BC’s finest musicians and entertainers, with live performances from Helen Austin, Todd Butler, Anela Kahiamoe, Kenny Shaw, Edwin Grieve &The Dukes Band, Jacki Zbirun, Valdance and the 19-person Georgia Strait Big Band.

MC’d by Edwin Grieve and conductor Greg Bush, the fun begins at 5:30 with the Rotary Bar and tasting stations sponsored by 40 Knots Vineyard and Estate Winery and Gladstone Brewing Co.

A delicious chili dinner will begin at 6:15. Dinner is being prepared and served by local chef Gordon High, owner of The Soup Pot. Live entertainment starts at 6:45 followed by a Big Band Saturday dance featuring the Georgia Strait Big Band.

“Tthe new Autism Centre will provide a much needed expansion to our existing autism program, while freeing up more space in our current building to meet the growing demands on all of our child development services,” said CVCDA executive director, Joanne Schroeder. “We are deeply appreciative of the support of the Georgia Strait Big Band and all the musicians in helping us to make this building a reality.”

So, get your best denim on and enjoy a lively, fun and entertaining evening while supporting the CVCDA.
