Discover Art Saturday
The Comox Valley Art Gallery kicks off its first Discover Art Saturdays of 2013 this weekend at the gallery from 2 to 4 p.m.
The cost is free, and it is open to the public and family friendly, so perfect for an afternoon with your kids, a creative date or coffee with friends.
Discover Art Saturdays is an interactive visual art experience on the first Saturday of every month at CVAG. This event is drop-in and features art making hosted by the gallery’s volunteers.
Visit the art exhibits and then sit down to create; draw, sketch, colour and collage. Basic art materials (such as paper, crayons, coloured pencil and collage materials) are supplied for everyone to share and explore.
This month, be inspired by the three different art exhibits on display: In the Presence of Absence, Rights and Wrongs, the Resilience of the World’s Indigenous People and Portfolio.
Or be inspired by coming holidays – the Lunar New Year (Feb. 10) or Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14).
You can arrive at any time and registration is not required. This is a great way to get creative with your loved ones, enjoy a casual social, and meet other CVAG members and guests. Come by for fun, creative, affordable activities, with emphasis on families!
For information on the gallery’s education programs, visit the Comox Valley Art Gallery on the Internet or call 250-338-6211.
