A Year on Ice recounts a family’s experience of wintering remotely in Canada’s high Arctic.

Imagine you are planning a year-long camping trip with your two-and-a-half-year-old chchildcare no child care whatsoever.

Now add into the mix bone chilling temperatures, white-outs, a sunset lasting 100 days, and not even a cell signal. A Year on Ice is one couple’s tales of their adventures aboard a 56-foot sailboat intentionally frozen into the ice for an entire year.

Hear about the challenges faced, both physical and psychological, along with the special bond formed during this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

This show was sold out in March and is now presented again at the Stan Hagen Theatre (North Island College) on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. by the Wild Places Fund in support of the Explore Program at G.P.Vanier Secondary School.

Tickets are available online at Eventbrite.com under the title A Year on Ice.
