Suspicious man in van sought by local RCMP

Comox Valley RCMP are investigating a suspicious occurrence involving a lone man in a van that has occurred twice in two days.

Two young females were approached by an older male while they were walking by themselves on area roadways.

One of the incidents took place on Cumberland Road near Willemar Avenue in Courtenay and the other incident took place on Seaview Road and Mountain Road in Black Creek.

The man was driving what is described as an older box-style white van that possibly has tinted windows. The man is described as being 40 to 50 years old with grey or brown hair and a partial to full beard. He is also described as being scruffy in appearance.

If anyone has any information on these incidents or knows the identity of the man, they are asked to contact Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). — Comox Valley RCMP
