Expanded Comox Recreation Centre opening June 17

Just in time to get fit for the summer, the official opening for the newly expanded Comox Recreation Centre is set for June 17 at 3 p.m.

The facility will be open all day for public tours, chief administrative officer Richard Kanigan said last week at a Comox council meeting.

During the 2008 municipal election, a majority of residents voted in favour of allowing the Town to borrow $1.6 million to further expand the centre, which now includes updated fitness equipment in a new facility.
