Announcement Thursday about hospital?

Comox Valley MLA Don McRae and representatives from the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) have called a news conference Thursday for what they call "a significant announcement for North and Central Vancouver Island communities."
Speculation is that the announcement will reveal the new location for a Comox Valley hospital.
The original location across Ryan Road from Crown Isle was voided by the Department of National Defence, which said the proposed building would violate a height restriction near CFB Comox.
VIHA then turned its attention to what it said was the second choice, near the Courtenay campus of North Island College in the same area as the No. 1 choice for a new hospital.
The announcement is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's General Hospital.
