Alert cancelled for suspicious man in van in Fanny Bay area

The Comox Valley RCMP have withdrawn a request for help from the public to locate a man who reportedly tried to lure a girl into his van in the Fanny Bay area.

Through investigation it has been learned that the story received from the child and the one given to police had been reported incorrectly, and the incident did not occur as reported, police said Friday.

The public are thanked for all their calls and tips in this matter and the police have concluded this investigation.
