Roadwork on Lerwick disrupting some Courtenay traffic

The City of Courtenay advises motorists to avoid Lerwick Road on Wednesday and Thursday.
The City of Courtenay Public Works Division will begin installing a water main along Lerwick Road between Ryan Road and Malahat Drive on Wednesday. The duration of the work will be two days, weather permitting.
To facilitate this work, interruptions to vehicular traffic flow will be experienced. Lerwick Road will be limited to single-lane traffic with intermittent road closures between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the days of construction. To avoid delays, motorists are advised to please use alternate routes if possible.
Questions regarding this project can be directed to the Public Works Division at 250-338-1525. The public is thanked in advance for their co-operation and patience during the construction times.
