Premier, MLA to make health announcements Thursday in Courtenay and Campbell River
Premier Christy Clark and MLA Don McRae will make two important health announcements Thursday in Courtenay and Campbell River.
The first announcement is at 10 a.m. at the Comox Valley campus of North Island College, the Office of the Premier announced Wednesday afternoon.
The second is at 1:30 p.m. at the Sunshine Wellness Centre at Campbell River and District General Hospital.
The announcement that new hospitals will be built in the two communities has been expected for months.
North Island College was the first Comox Valley alternative after the Ryan Road location preferred by the Vancouver Island Health Authority was scrapped due to concerns about a too-high building too close to CFB Comox.
The Campbell River hospital is expected to be built near the existing facility.
