Information on the move at transit sessions
The Comox Valley Regional District will host a free information session about public transit for electoral area residents Wednesday in Union Bay and Aug. 15 in Merville.
The session will cover which routes serve the electoral areas, the benefits of taking transit, trip planning and how to catch a bus in the rural areas.
“There are more reasons than ever to take transit in our region,” said Michael Zbarsky, the CVRD’s manager of transit and sustainability. “Whether it’s getting to Goose Spit on the weekends in the summer, or making it part of your regular commute to save money, Comox Valley transit is working hard to get our residents around.”
Attendees will be provided with free 10-packs of bus passes and entered in a draw to win other prizes. There will be a bus on site for demonstrations of how to load a bike onto the bus rack, and how the bus easily accommodates those with mobility issues.
Pre-registration is recommended, via e-mail at email@example.com or 250-334-6065. Wednesday's session is at the Union Bay Community Hall, 5401 South Island Highway. The Aug. 15 session is at the Merville Community Hall, 1245 Fenwick Rd.
Both sessions run from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
