Resurfacing of track in Courtenay might come off front burner
The proposed track resurfacing project at Vanier Secondary needs to be re-evaluated based on cost factors, says regional district CAO Debra Oakman.
The CVRD has a cost-sharing partnership with the Comox Valley School District with respect to the track, which was slated for resurfacing this summer. Both parties have a replacement fund in order to maintain the facility, which is used by the Comox Valley Cougars Track & Field Club, the Comox Valley Road Runners and the public. Parts of the track lift at the first turn.
Oakman has requested a report on the project for Tuesday's committee of the whole meeting, after which a site visit might be conducted.
The project is listed among the CVRD's strategic priorities.
