Harbour Air rep, new visitor centre earn tourism awards
Andrew MacMillan of Harbour Air and the new Vancouver Island Visitor Centre in the Comox Valley were honoured with Tourism Vancouver Island Awards last week.
MacMillan, who works out of the airline's Comox operation, received the Tourism Employee of the Year Award for demonstrating exemplary work performance, thereby enhancing business or customer satisfaction.
The visitor centre earned the Tourism Sustainability Award. It recognizes a tourism business that has set out to minimize its environmental impact, conserve natural resources, respect local cultures and benefit local communities.
The awards were presented at the Best Western Premier Prestige Oceanfront Resort in Sooke.
