Air quality advisory cancelled for Comox Valley
The Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the Vancouver Island Health Authority has
cancelled the air quality advisory for the Courtenay/Comox/Cumberland area that has
been in effect since Wednesday January 2nd, 2013. Air quality has improved in the
Courtenay/Comox/Cumberland area due to a change in weather conditions.
Open burning may now be conducted without a permit or approval from the Ministry
of Environment provided that the activity complies with the Open Burning Smoke
Control Regulation, Environmental Management Act, and with any restrictions
imposed by other agencies (e.g. municipal burning bylaws).
For more information on current air quality, see: www.bcairquality.ca.
