The Comox Valley RCMP, with the assistance of the RCMP's Emergency Response Team, were able to take a 50-year-old Merville man into custody after threats of a possible firearm being involved.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 8, the Comox Valley RCMP received a report of a man threatening to hurt himself as well as others. Reference was also made to the possibility of a firearm being involved.
The RCMP's general duty members received assistance from the Emergency Response Team.
Just before 9 a.m., one man was taken into custody without injury. The 50-year-old Merville man is facing the possibility of charges as RCMP continue to investigate.
