Plan Cumberland together in OCP review

The public is encouraged to 'Plan Cumberland Together' by attending a review and revision session of the Village's Official Community Plan Wednesday at the Seniors Centre.

The gathering provides an opportunity to share opinions about pressing issues in the community.

Village council recently approved a project steering committee to guide the final stages of the OCP. The committee consists of Village CAO Sundance Topham, senior planner Judith Walker, a technical staff person and a planner from the Comox Valley Regional District. The group will report back to council.

There is also an OCP Local Citizen Advisory Group, formed to advise Village staff and Stantec Consulting on the strengths and areas to improve upon the 2004 OCP.

The Village expects to have the document revised in October.

Wednesday's session runs from 5 to 8 p.m. downstairs at the Seniors Centre at 2674 Dunsmuir Ave.
