2019 dog licenses now available for Comox Valley Regional District electoral area residents

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) requires all dogs over six months of age to be licenced every year within Electoral Area A – Baynes Sound (except Hornby and Denman), Electoral Area B – Lazo North and Electoral Area C – Puntledge and Black Creek.

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) requires all dogs over six months of age to be licenced every year within Electoral Area A – Baynes Sound (except Hornby and Denman), Electoral Area B – Lazo North and Electoral Area C – Puntledge and Black Creek.

Starting Nov. 15, residents within these electoral areas will be able to purchase their 2019 licence. Licences are valid from Jan. 1 until Dec. 31 each year. Residents who live within the City of Courtenay, Town of Comox and Village of Cumberland must contact their municipal office to obtain their annual dog licence.

“All dogs in the CVRD electoral areas require a licence if they are over six months old,” explains Amanda Yasinski, manager of Bylaw Compliance with the CVRD. “Help ensure that your pet quickly finds its way back home by purchasing your 2019 dog licence today.”

The cost to licence a spayed or neutered dog is $5, and for a non-spayed or neutered dog is $15. There are several locations for purchasing the licences within the regional district:

Comox Valley Regional District office (600 Comox Road, Courtenay, 250-334-6000);

BCSPCA Comox Valley & District (1668 Ryan Road East, Courtenay, 250-339-7722);

Ships Point Improvement District (7729 Vivian Way, Fanny Bay, 250-335-0551).
