RCMP searching for suspect in Comox credit union robbery

The Comox Valley RCMP are seeking the public's help to identify a man suspected of robbing the Comox branch of the Coastal Community Credit Union Monday.

Const. Nicole Hall says RCMP received a call just before 10 a.m about a robbery at the credit union at 1797 Comox Ave.

"He went in a produced a note demanding money, and nobody was hurt, but he did walk away with an undisclosed amount of money," says Hall. "He made reference to having a gun."

The suspect is described as being 5'10'' with a slim build. He was wearing a long black jacket with the hood up, with aviator-style sunglasses and a scarf pulled up over his face.

RCMP are looking for any information that could help identify the suspect. Anyone who believes they may have information is asked to call the Comox Valley detachment at 250-338-1321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
