Bad things happen to Good Samaritans in Comox Valley

The Comox Valley RCMP and Victim Services warn the public against allowing strangers into your home.

There are at least two reports this past week of an unknown woman convincing people to let her into their homes, while looking for her lost dog.

Many might say this is foolish to be looking for a stray dog inside someone else's home, but this woman targets the vulnerable and elderly of our community. She also makes mention of needing to get into their backyard.

After the stranger leaves the home, items have then been discovered stolen. In one incident it was the home owner's wallet.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian woman with black hair. These incidents occurred in the area of Park Place and Grant Avenue in Courtenay.

Anyone with information on these crimes or perhaps has knowledge of similar incidents is asked to contact Const. Colin Curtis of the Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321. Should they wish to remain anonymous, they can call 1-800-222-8477(TIPS) or text cvcstips to crime.
