Two men charged after drug bust in Courtenay

After a lengthy investigation involving several Comox Valley residents, several criminal drug charges have been laid, local RCMP reported Tuesday.

On March 7, one man and one girl were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking in a narcotic. As a result of those arrests, a search warrant was executed on a residence on the 4600 block of McLauchlin Drive in Courtenay.

Upon searching the residence, police discovered and seized cocaine, marijuana, cash and other drug paraphernalia. The male homeowner was arrested and is also being charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in a narcotic.

The two men, 21-year-old Cody Van Ly, and 37-year-old Corey Dewhirst, were released on court conditions and will appear in court at a later date.
