Witnesses to bullying incident sought

The Comox Valley RCMP is looking for witnesses after several bullies allegedly caused an 11-year-old male cyclist to crash his bicycle on Monday, March 7 at approximately 5 p.m.

The victim was riding his bike at Hobson Park, near 10th Street east and Hobson Avenue.

A group of unknown males called the cyclist a name and tossed a rock towards the bike. The rock hit the front tire of the bike, causing the rider to crash.

As a result of the crash, the youth suffered an injury and was taken to a local hospital. He was subsequently transferred to a larger hospital for overnight observation.

One suspect was described as wearing a black hoody with white writing down the back.
