Arden Elementary School principal Brian Goodwin (left), and Comox Valley Record editor Terry Farrell (right) will pucker up for Pepper, the pot-bellied pig, if $1,000 is raised for Tour de Rock.

On Wednesday, Sept. 27, Arden Elementary will be having a few special guests attend their afternoon fundraising assembly. The Tour de Rock riders will be making a brief stop around 1:45 p.m. on that day, as well as another guest of the four-legged kind.

Arden Elementary is very honoured to host the Tour de Rock riders this year as they stop in for a quick visit to meet students and staff and hopefully be entertained at Arden’s assembly. Arden will be working hard until then raising funds so they can present the Tour de Rock riders with their total donation contributions before the riders continue their long journey down-Island.

Principal Brian Goodwin has challenged the Arden school students and staff to raise a minimum of $500 to give to the riders.

The Challenge: Arden Elementary must raise a minimum of $500 for the Tour de Rock’s fundraising which will go towards research in finding a cure for childhood cancer. If successful in this challenge, the Tour de Rock riders, students, and staff will be able to watch their very brave principal kiss Pepper, the pot-bellied pig!

We’re sure the amount of $500 will be reached, especially since Arden Elementary students and staff are experts at showing the Arden way. Principal Goodwin won’t have to kiss the not-so-little Pepper, if we can’t meet his challenge, so we have a lot of work to do! If you are an Arden student, parent, or staff member and wish to donate, please pop in at Arden School and put your money into our little pink pig that sits in the office.

Record editor joins in

To add a little incentive, Comox Valley Record editor Terry Farrell has said he will also kiss the pig, if a total of $1,000 is raised. Donations for the fundraiser can be made at the school, or online at https://www.blackpress4good.com/51HW8e?ref=ab_8eBWJkNAMOl8eBWJkNAMOl
