Highway 19A has been reopened after being closed in both directions due to a two-vehicle incident near Black Creek this afternoon.

RCMP and Oyster River Fire Department (ORFD) responded to the report of an incident on Highway 19A just south of Hamm Road. ORFD Deputy Fire Chief Chris Murray said witnesses saw a vehicle cross the yellow line and collide with another vehicle.

“Out of the two vehicles, there were three patients and two puppies that were in there. The three patients got taken away by ambulance. There was more-than-minor injuries to the patients and one of the dogs is doing good and the other dog, I’m not quite sure,” Deputy Fire Chief Chris Murray said. “I heard some witnesses say one vehicle crossed over the yellow line but not sure at this time.”

Police were reported to be conducting a road check nearby when the incident occurred.
