Cyclist struck by truck on Headquarters Road

A cyclist was reportedly taken to hospital after a collision with a truck on Headquarters Road in Courtenay on Friday.

A cyclist was reportedly taken to hospital after a collision with a truck on Headquarters Road in Courtenay on Friday.

The incident took place around 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Dingwall Road and Headquarters Road. A black truck was seen on scene and a bicycle was located at the side of the road. A drone was also on the ground near an RCMP vehicle.

Cst. Monika Terragni with the Comox Valley RCMP said members wrapped up their investigation by 3 p.m. and Headquarters Road is now open for both lanes of traffic.

“I don’t have any more information from investigating members at this time,” she said.
