On Jan. 9, the Comox Valley RCMP Drug Section arrested four individuals in relation to drug trafficking in a parking lot on the 1700 block of Cliffe Avenue. Police seized suspected heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine as well as scales, packaging materials, an undisclosed amount of cash and other drug trafficking instruments. A vehicle was also towed from the scene.

Two adult males, one adult female and one youth are facing charges of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance.

“We are continuing to use every available option to combat drug trafficking in the Comox Valley. The RCMP has observed a heightened presence of fentanyl in the Canadian illicit market and is taking the appropriate enforcement measures to ensure that Canadians are safe,” said Const. Rob Gardner, Comox Valley RCMP media relations officer. “It was very disconcerting to see young persons involved in this dangerous criminal activity.”
