First responders search waters near Stories Beach south of Campbell River for missing pair

Search suspended for the evening; will resume Monday

First responders rushed to Clinton Rd. near Stories Beach today after reports of three people needing rescue from high water.

The RCMP, Campbell River and Oyster River Fire Departments, Campbell River Search and Rescue as well as the Coast Guard were all on scene.

According to media reports, Campbell River Search and Rescue confirm that three people were thrown from an ATV into the water near Woods Creek. One of the three was rescued. The search for the other two missing people - reportedly a father and daughter - has been called off for the night and will resume again Monday morning.

RCMP did not confirm the reports.
