Police seeking witness for Comox Road robbery

On Dec. 4 at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Comox Valley RCMP responded to an armed robbery at the Liquor Express, located on the 3000 block of Comox Road, in Courtenay.

On Dec. 4 at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Comox Valley RCMP responded to an armed robbery at the Liquor Express, located on the 3000 block of Comox Road, in Courtenay.

A man, described as being approximately 5’8” tall and heavy set, entered the business with a weapon. The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The investigation into this robbery is being led by the Comox Valley RCMP Major Crime section with the assistance of the Integrated Forensic Identification Section and Police Dog services.

Anyone in the area of the 3000 block of Comox Road last night at the time of the robbery is asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP.

“Sometimes people see things that seem insignificant, but it turns out to be something that can really assist the investigation,” stated Comox Valley RCMP plain clothes commander Staff Sgt. Kevin Mazur.
