Peter Hamilton of Life Force Ocean Friends came across a pod of orcas passing the BC Ferries Salish Orca Friday, near the Little River Terminal.

Hamilton reminds boaters that while the season is winding down, there is still a significant whale presence in the area.

“There are many Humpback whales and orcas in our waters this year,” he says. “In addition to net entanglements, there has been boat and whale collisions. Boaters are advised to be very cautious when travelling. Sightings can also be texted to Lifeforce Ocean Friends at 604-649-5258 to help with their research, education, and protection work.”
