Smud - “Big Al” passed away at home in Black Creek on June 1, 2003, after a lengthy battle with cancer, at age 62. He is survived by his loving family and many dear friends. Al enjoyed life and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A Service of Remembrance in Celebration of his Life will be held on Friday, June 20th at 3:00 pm from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD. For those wishing, donations in Al’s memory to the Easter Seal House, the Vancouver Island Cancer Clinic or the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
