Al Diraddo passed away peacefully at his home in Courtenay, B.C. on January 26th, 2009. He was predeceased by his wife Rita Diraddo, sister Mary Desormeaux, brother Victor Diraddo all of Montreal, Qc. sisters Eileen Stevenson and Frances Rodd of Sarnia, Ontario. Al is survived and will be greatly missed by his son Richard Diraddo of Montreal, Qc., his daughters Judith (Mark) Garland and Donna (Michel) Diraddo, his grandchildren Molly and Robin, sister Doris Hopkins of Chateauguay, Qc. and nieces and nephews Helen (Charlie) Riddell of Sarnia, Ontario, George Desormeaux of Calgary, Ab., Robert Desormeaux of Montreal, Qc., Patrick Hopkins of Montreal, Qc., and Ronald Hopkins of Chateauguay, Qc. Al served with the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II. He had been involved with the Gideons for several years. In his leisure time Al loved to play golf. He was the author of 3 books and was a serious student of the Word of God. He endeavoured to serve Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour since 1976. Al was loved by many friends and family and will be greatly missed. If friends so wish, donations made to the Gideon’s Memorial Bible Plan, in lieu of flowers, would be greatly appreciated. A Memorial Service will be held at the Comox Pentecostal Church, 1919 Guthrie Road, Comox, B.C. on Monday February 9, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. with reception to follow.
