Anneliese
Mrs. Anneliese Haefner of Sylvan Lake, Alberta passed away on November 7, 2008 at the age of 77 years.
Anneliese was born on July 30, 1931 in Merkstein, Germany. She came to Canada from Germany in January 1956 where she worked in a seat cover factory in Winnipeg. In 1970, she and Wolf (her son) were invited to the Comox Valley for a holiday that never ended. She ended up making it her permanent address.
Some of her employments included a paint store in Courtenay and working along side her best friend Margret Rose in Margret’s Deli/Health Food Store in Campbell River. She was known for her tremendous cooking and baking ability and she had an incredible knack for planning and hosting parties with her friends. She and her husband, Richard, often went to Palm Springs with friends during the winter months.
She is survived by her husband Richard Haefner; sons Wolf (Bonnie) and Brian (Jessica); grandchildren Randy, Tanner, Tyler, Nathasha, Crystal, Cody and Cora as well as many extended family members and close friends.
A Memorial Service for the late Anneliese Haefner will be held at the Chapel of the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home on Thursday, November 13 at 11:30 A.M. with Reverend John Haazen officiating. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, AB.
