February 20, 2004

Wood, Ardyth Irene

(nee: Yerex)

1927 - 2004

Ardyth was born and raised on a farm near Neepawa, MB in a loving family including her parents Noble and Irene, three brothers: Max (Lorna), Daune (Joan), and Glen (Vera), and six sisters: Sybil (Galvin), Erma (Cliff), Norma (Jim), Mavis (John), Muriel (Al) and Carol (Ed), and families. Ardyth graduated as an R.N. from the Winnipeg School of Nursing in 1951 and throughout her career specialized in maternity, emergency and psychiatric nursing until her retirement in 1986. She is remembered and loved for her caring and fun-loving nature. She traveled extensively with her loving husband John, and enjoyed the sport of golf. She always had time for the many people in her life, making each one feel that they were the most special, including her five daughters: Peggy (Paul), Patty, Donna (Candace), Michele (Kurt), and Marcy (Jim); her four stepchildren: Bill (Joanne), David (Ruth), Vicky (Graham), and Darren (Theresa); eighteen grandchildren: Alison, Joanna, Crystol, Kendra, Janine, Vanessa, Tanner, Brendon, Isaac, Kimber, Sydney, Nigel, Miranda, Troy, Paige, Ashley, Chelsea, and Haley; and Rory, her only great grandchild. She will also be sadly missed by her many friends. Ardyth will be lovingly remembered forever by her husband John. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Foundation or The Arthritis Society in Ardyth’s name would be greatly appreciated. A private service was held on Tuesday, February 24, 2004. PIERCY’S - MT. WASHINGTON FUNERAL HOME has been entrusted with arrangements.
