Henderson - Arthur James, “Jim” of Courtenay, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Thursday, March 6th, 2003, aged 85. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife Fran; daughters Janice (Jim) Aitken of Union Bay and Karen Fellows (Dick Tansley) of Williams Lake; sons Paul (Doris) Henderson of Vancouver and Dennis (Charlene) Henderson of Courtenay; grandchildren Sandy, Shannon, Clayton, Nikki, Sonja, Jessica, Jennifer, Ashley, Sarah and Marci; great grandchildren Evenn, Kristopher and Makenzie; brothers Ted (Barbara) Henderson of Comox and Geoff (Jean) Henderson of Courtenay, as well as his sister-in-law Georgina Henderson of Campbell River. Jim was predeceased by his brother Mike. He served with the RCAF during the Second World War and was a member of the Guinea Pig Club, serving disabled airforce men of all the allied nations who have been or are patients at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, Sussex.

In his leisure, Jim loved to fish. A gathering of Family and Friends, in Celebration of his Life will be held on Thursday, March 13th, 2:30 pm at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN RD. Should friends wish, donations in Jim’s memory to the charity of choice would be appreciated.
