It is with sadness we announce the passing of Arthur Wallace (Red) Leighton in Mazatlan, Mexico, on Saturday, November 26, 2005.

He was predeceased by his son George Leighton in May, 1976. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Josephine Elizabeth Jessie (Bonnie); children Harold (Kathleen), Danny (Bev), Bill (Norma), Shelley (Wayne), Sherry (Dave), and Verna (Trevor); 14 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Gordon (Peggy) and family.

A.W. was born, raised and lived most of his full and colourful life in the Comox Valley and told the most entertaining of stories.

A.W. was a long-time member of the Courtenay Legion and the round table at the Arbutus. He leaves behind many memories, friends and probably more stories.

No flowers by request. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

There will be a Celebration of his life at the Courtenay Legion Saturday, December 10, 2005 at 1:00 pm.
