Beecher passed away at 80 years of age, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, Vancouver Island, BC on Thursday, November 18th, 2004 after a brief illness. He will be missed by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn; his five children: Keith (Linda), Karen (Rob) Long, Larry (Patricia), Sandra (Gerry) Wilson, Rae (Branka); eleven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Beecher was a pioneer in Canada’s north in the road construction industry. He retired several times, and enjoyed traveling and working on his tree farm. Beecher made friends of all ages and walks of life wherever he went. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met. We will miss him. A private family service took place on his beloved tree farm on Saturday, November 20th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital Comox, BC, or a charity of your choice.
