Edwards, Booker T, a resident of the Extended Care Unit, St. Joseph's Hospital, passed away on Tuesday, November 17th, 2009. Predeceased by his wife Ruby; brothers Romeo, Alonzo and Arnold and sisters Valspar Whittaker and Dorothy Blakey, he is survived and will be dearly missed by his daughter Sharon and grand-daughter Tomekia; foster children John, David and Barbara and families; brothers Joy, Kenneth and Elmer and sister Ralph Sneed.
He was a farmer for over 50 years in Amber Valley, Alberta and drove a school bus as well, semi-retiring to the Comox Valley in 1984. He was active in the Cancer Group, his church, loved music and being with people. His warm personality, sense of humour and familiar red truck will long be remembered by the countless friends he made.
Viewing and Visitation will take place from Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road on Thursday, November 26th from 2 to 4pm. His funeral service will be held on Friday, November 27th, 10:30am at Comox Pentecostal Church, 1919 Guthrie Road with Pastor Dave Postal officiating. Burial will follow at Courtenay Civic Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Ruby.
