Brian passed away peacefully after a valiant fight against cancer. Brian died January 20, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Comox, BC. Born in Winnipeg on October 5, 1939, Brian joined the military as a young man and his career then took him to Europe, Nova Scotia and British Columbia. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Arlie and Steinun Isfeld; his son, Master Corporal, Mark Robert Isfeld in Croatia and on August 15, 2007, his most beloved wife, Carol in Comox.

Father, brother, friend, cousin, activist, humanitarian, rock hound, photographer, community volunteer, fisherman, collector of "all" items of interest.

Brian has left the world a better place because he lived in it.

He is survived by his two sons: Glenn of Edmonton, AB, Leigh and his wife, Judy and their two sons: Brian and Mark of Gibbons, AB and daughter-in-law, Kelly Isfeld of Everson, WA. Brian also leaves his sister Pat and her husband, Brian McKenzie of Winnipeg; sister-in-law, Judy MacGibbon and her husband, Ken of Montreal; cousin, Brian Place of Winnipeg as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and his military family. He is also survived by longtime friends, Lynn and David Breese, who were at Brian's side during this painful struggle. Flowers gratefully declined. A donation may be made in Brian's memory to the Palliative Care Unit, St. Joseph's Hospital, Comox, BC. You may also honor his memory simply by passing on an act of kindness to someone in need of one.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Protestant Chapel, 1325 Military Row, CFB Comox, BC on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 2:00 pm.
