BARS/PEARSON, Candace Dawn
July 13, 1963 – Feb. 28, 2010
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Candace. She fought many courageous battles with recurring cancers, major radical surgeries, chemo, and massive doses of radiation over a period of 25 years since age 22. Her heart was enlarged (in more ways than one, she had a big heart for every one). She passed quickly at home of a heart attack. She did not want to die in the hospital.
Candace was born in New Westminster, BC. Her family moved to Courtenay when she was 3. She graduated from Vanier high school. She was outgoing and friendly. She knew many people and had so many, many friends. When she came into a room she just lit it up.
Candace will be deeply missed and always loved by her mother, Donna (Ron) Halls and father George (Audrey) Barrs, brother Rick Barrs, all of Courtenay. Sister Debra Barrs of Nottingham, England and Candace’s ex husband, Chris Pearson of Campbell River. Uncle Mervyn (Juanita) Madill of Kamloops and Raymond of Penticton. One nephew Lance Barrs of Vancouver. One niece Amber Barrs of Victoria, sister in law Pattie McCarthy (Barrs) of Nanaimo. Her friend and companions David Middleton and Shawne Moughton.
Pre deceased by her grandparents George and Freda Madill, Elizabeth Barrs, Uncle Vern of Kamloops, Aunt Angela Madill of Penticton, many cousins, extended Halls and Marshall families.
God set her free from her pain and sorrows, now she’s wrapped up in the loving arms of Jesus.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 20th at 1:30 pm at Aaron House Christian fellowship. 2946 Kilpatrick Ave. Courtenay (beside liquidation world).
In lieu of flowers donations to Aaron house, the Cancer foundation or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
