Cherrie Lynne Scotton (nee McKenney) passed away at the age of 41 peacefully, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer on December 3rd at home with her loving husband at her side.

She is survived by her husband Jon, Comox BC. Mother and Father, Doreen and Clifford McKenney of Melfort, Sask, Brother Dale and wife Susan of Red Lake Road, Ont, Grandmother Elsie Patrosh of Tisdale, Sask, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and In-Laws.

Cherrie lived life to the fullest and could always be seen with a smile on her face. She was a kind and loving person who was thankful for her many blessings. Cherrie will be remembered as a person of strong will, who loved people and showed kindness, compassion, charity and hospitality to all.

Cherrie was a Chef extraordinaire, an eclectic collector of antiques, an avid gardener, a voracious reader, a talented singer and budding pianist. She enjoyed traveling and had just completed her dream trip, an 18 day vacation to Paris, Dublin, Glasgow, and London. She raised and loved her bulldogs, including her three special dogs, Ella, Furrio, and Diva and her cats Salleari, Ivan, Juliet and Cooper.

She will be greatly missed by family and many dear friends.

Jon and the Family wish to give special thanks to Dr McLaughlin, the Doctors, Nurses and staff of the Campbell River Hospital; as well as the “Home Care Workers & Nursing” of Comox for all their compassionate care of Cherrie.

Cherrie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all her special friends that spent precious time with her over these last few short weeks.

In lieu of flowers, for friends so wishing, donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society and the SPCA.

Cremation arrangements entrusted to Comox Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Services Courtenay.

A gathering in remembrance and celebration of Cherrie’s life will be held at 19 Wing Comox Officer’s Mess, commencing at 7 PM on Wednesday the 9th of December.
