Clifford James

June 22, 1919 – November 19, 2006

On Sunday morning, after an amazing journey of 87 years, Cliff passed peacefully at his home in Port Alberni with his loving family by his side.

Born in Victoria to Anne and Scott, Cliff’s early years were spent on the small family farm in Oak Bay with sisters Margaret, Eleanor, Doris and brother George. Predeceased in 2005 by May, his dear wife of 59 years, Cliff will be greatly missed by sons Barry (Chris), Ron (Donna), Wayne (Suzan) and daughter Darlene. Also fondly remembering are grandchildren Carla, Marlo, Kraige, Krista, Brandon, Shawna, Britton, Foster, Christopher and great-grandchildren Dane, Hannah and Cailyn May. After serving over five years as a proud member of the Canadian Scottish Regiment during World War II, Cliff returned to spend his life working in the forest industry. Cliff’s great love of family and community will be celebrated on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at the Alberni District Secondary School at 1:00pm.

A reception will follow in the adjacent gymnasium from 2:00pm till 5:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 169 or to the Bread of Life Society, 3130 Third Avenue, Port Alberni, B.C. V9Y 4CA.
