Rousseau, Daniel Wilfred

1950 ~ 2003

Born September 23, 1950 and passed away on November 2, 2003 after a long and determined struggle with emphysema and lung cancer. Daniel is survived by Teresa, his wife of 28 years, his loving son Jarrod and daughter-in-law Pam. Daniel’s first grandchild, Alexa Danielle, was born March 10, 2003, a bright shining star in all our lives. Daniel was so very proud to see his son married and the arrival of Princess Ali. He is also survived by his sister Jane Bormans, brother-in-law Rick Bormans of Angus, Ontario, his twin brother David Rousseau (Elaine) of Cornwall, Ontario. Steven Rousseau of Dryden, Ontario, sister Corinne Sullivan of North Bay, Ontario, brother Garry Rousseau of Vancouver, sister Geraldine Rousseau of Angus, Ontario, Adam Hamilton, Eric (Cheryl) Hamilton of Downsview, Ontario.

Daniel was predeceased by his father Wilfred, and his beloved mother Birdie. Daniel also leaves behind many nieces and nephews: Derrick (Janine) Bormans, Lacey Bormans, Desiree Hallett, Carmen and Sean Rousseau, Cain and Shannon Rousseau, Tyler Rousseau-Sullivan, Kendel, Cody, and Tayler Sullivan, Mark, Vanessa, and Kenisha Priddie. Great nephew Ryan Rousseau and Zachary Bormans. One great niece Mialynn Rousseau. Daniel’s family was always the most important part of his life, regardless of the miles that separated them. Daniel also leaves behind an extended family who have been very supportive and loving. Daniel worked for many years for Color Your World in several cities. He always loved dealing with the public and was the happiest when helping his customers. One special customer came into Daniel’s life about two years ago. Dr. Eva Hemmerch and Daniel struck up a conversation regarding Daniel’s emphysema. After several conversations Eva asked Daniel if he would share his story with school children. Last Spring Daniel and Eva visited several schools and were well received by not only the students but teachers and parents alike. The last two classes they visited were videotaped by Del’s Video. “SMOKING STINKS” is the name of the video and it is Daniel’s hope that all school children will eventually hear his story. Daniel was so proud of this video and believes that if even one child doesn’t start smoking he will have accomplished a good thing.
