Daphne Mae Payne beloved wife of Jack of Calgary, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2010 at the age of 86 years.

Daphne was born on August 27, 1924 in Calgary, Alberta. She married the love of her life Jack on August 2, 1943. Daphne worked as a partner of Paynes Drug Store in Calgary until retirement, after which she moved to Comox, BC where she lived for thirty years until moving back to Calgary this past August. For seventeen years, Daphne and Jack wintered in Arizona. She was affiliated with the Anglican Church, was passionate about art, and was a member of Comox Ladies Golf as well as D’esterre Carpet Bowlers.

Besides her loving husband Jack, Daphne is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jim Shermack of Calgary, AB; two grandchildren, Cindy (Terry Spicer) Shermack and Douglas (Stephanie) Shermack; and one great-grandson, Brandon. She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Payne.
