Daphne Meryle
October 3, 1920 - July 21, 2008
Daphne passed away peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side. She will be greatly missed by her husband Norman Silvester; sons Dale (Ada) MacDermid, Ian (Ann) MacDermid, Mark (Heather) Silvester; grandchildren: Trevor, Sheri, Shane, Kaila, Dana, Jamie, Keenan and Alana; great-grandchildren: Kristina and Brandon. Predeceased in 1952 by her first husband Douglas MacDermid and in 2001 her sister and best friend Dorothy Edwards.
Daphne was born in Cumberland, BC. She spent time in London as a WAC during WWII and worked for many years at Canada Post. Daphne was a long time member of the Royal Purple (Courtenay Branch) and the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch #17).
Service to be held at the Comox Valley Funeral Home at 1101 Ryan Road on Saturday, July 26th at 1:00 pm with reception to follow in the "Garden Room and Outdoor Patio" of the Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank everyone at the Extended Care Unit at St. Joseph's General Hospital for all their compassion, love and dedication to Daphne for the last 9 years.
