David Ellison Nelson

Aug. 25, 1945 ~ June 12, 2007

Passed away suddenly and bravely at St. Joseph’s Hospital with his family at his side.

Survived by his wife Carole (Comox), son Travis (Comox), daughter Tamara (Victoria), granddaughter Zoea (Victoria). Also brother Jack Nelson (Cranbrook), sisters: Marguerite Hughes (Vernon) and Dorcas Rotondo (Vernon).

David was born in Turner Valley, AB and joined the C.A.F. (Navy) in 1962 to see the world. In 1972, he transferred to the R.C.A.F. and became and A.E.S.O.P. (Observer). After 25 years of service, he retired but soon became bored and started another career with Loomis Armoured Car Service (Securicor), as Lead Hand. He always said he was a prairie boy who got to see the world by sea and air and had the best 3 careers anyone could have ever had.

Dave will be remembered as a true Outdoorsman, a Viking of the Woods, and a Cowboy in the modern world.

There will be no service by his request. His ashes will be spread at a special place at a later date.

Our thanks to Dr. Wale, Dr. Harris and Dr. Blacklock and 3rd Floor Nurses: Shannoon and Stacey at St. Joseph’s.

Donations, in remembrance, can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
