ADAMS, David Wayne

March 06, 1942 – December 24, 2010

The family announces with great sadness the passing of David Wayne Adams, an exceptional man and wonderful father. He was predeceased by his parents Roy and Dorothy and two brothers William and Terrance.

He will be deeply missed by his children, Tom (Lorna), Bill, John (Kat), Cheryl (Greg) and stepson Shon. His many grandchildren: James, Andrew, Emma, Olivia; Damien, Alex, Tristan; Ashley, Kyla and Grayden. He also leaves behind to mourn: six sisters; three brothers; many nieces and nephews and Gloria.

Dad was a successful self-employed welder/fabricator with businesses in Prince George, Campbell River and lastly in Comox, BC. His passion for his trade was apparent in the smile that it brought to his face and his many satisfied customers.

Dad had many accomplishments in his lifetime; one that greatly affected his life was his continued sobriety of twenty-one years through all of life’s ups and downs as an active member of AA.

His desire to help others was shown in his everyday life. Regardless of whom, he held out his hand of friendship to family and strangers alike. He had a gentle soul and his presence touched many people. We are all blessed to know such a great man.

In light of Dad’s recent diagnosis, he made the decision to retire and was looking forward to traveling the world with his special friend Pat, but he was called to God’s side unexpectedly and was blessed to have his daughter Cheryl, son Tom and grandson Andrew by his side.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 8th at 9:00 a.m. at the Comox Valley Funeral Home Crematorium and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dad’s name to the Canadian Cancer Foundation.
