Deborah Hansen passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 6, 2010, just before her 86th birthday. She is predeceased by her husband, Ross, daughter-in-law, Lynne, and brother, Harold. Deborah is survived by brothers: Rod (Joan) and Melvin (Audrey),sister-in-law Eileen, and brother-in-law, Jim, many nieces and nephews as well as her 3 children: Curt, Loreta and Colin (Laura), grandchildren: Kim (Dennis), Greg (Paige), Scott, Leian (Cory), Ross and Marten and great-grandchildren: Avery, Grae, Kyla and Keenan.


Our thanks to the staff of Eagleview for providing Deborah with excellent care for the past 8 months. Deborah was born in Sion, Alberta to Walter and Elsie Kyle on December 19, 1924. At a young age she moved with her family to the Alberni Valley to live on their dairy farm on Beaver Creek Road. She married Ross in 1946, years later moved to Victoria and then to the Comox Valley in 1965. Deborah worked in the family business as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed participating in CoVal Choristers, Sons of Norway and worked as a volunteer for the Cancer Society for many years. In remembrance, a drop in tea will be held Saturday, January 2, 2011 at the Comox Seniors Centre, 1801 Beaufort Avenue, Comox, from noon until 3pm. Friends and family are welcome.
