FORSYTHE, Don

April 13, 1937 ~ August 26, 2010

Don passed away peacefully at home in Courtenay, B.C. on August 26, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Don is survived and will be lovingly missed by his wife of 49 years, Betty; his daughter Sharon and her 2 sons Myles and Owen; his daughter Beverley and her daughters Teleah & Toni and Toni's son Tayden, and his son Alan (Tracy) and their children Lauren, Spencer and Emma as well as his sister Florence Tester.

Don was born in Neepawa, Manitoba on April 13, 1937 in a farming setting. He joined the Navy for adventure, married Betty in 1961 and they lived in Victoria after 10 years of Naval Service. Don's new challenge was carpentry and wood working resulting in Forsythe Cabinets. He also did restorations at the Parliament Buildings. After several years in the city it was his wish to return to the farm. Off we went to the Comox Valley where he farmed in Merville. These were happy days where Don could raise his cattle and tend his crops and of course, the John Deere tractor was always on the move. Nearing retirement years, The John Deere was traded for an RV lifestyle. Don was always ready to hit the road and travel to a new destination.

He will be sadly missed by family and friends. A Celebration of Don's life took place on Tuesday, August 31st, 2010 at 1:00pm from Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre.
