BROWN

Donald (Don) Gordon

August 20, 1928 – July 26, 2008

Don Brown passed away peacefully on July 26, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, B.C. He was predeceased by his parents George and Rosina. Don is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Joan, his son Ian (Jessica) of Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S., his daughter Kim (Glenn) Drescher of Gibsons, B.C., his grandchildren Cory and Kelly Brown and Ryan and Evan Drescher, his sister Jean (Lew), his nieces and nephews; Linda, Kevan and Sally Hudson and Gary, Julie and Martin Chambers as well as his aunt Mamie. Don served with the Royal Engineers in Egypt from 1946 to 1949 and was a former Rotarian and Freemason. He worked as a chemical sales manager in England and as a municipal clerk in B.C. In his leisure time Don enjoyed model making and stamp collecting. Don had a great sense of humour that helped him and others through the hard times. He enjoyed life and was a wonderful husband and friend to Joan and his children Ian and Kim. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Don’s memory to the SPCA would be appreciated. A service in September will be announced at a later date.
