Donald Eric
July 23, 1932 - January 22, 2008
With great sadness we announce the loss of Don, a wonderful husband, a gentle and loving father and grandfather. Don is survived by his wife Ann Louise, children: Debbie (Bob), Michael (Cynthia), Nicole (Gary), Steven (Heather), and Trevor; grandchildren: Richard, Paul, Lance, Christopher, Sean, Geoffrey, David, Katie, Colleen-Ann and Nicholas.
Don was born in England, 1932. He immigrated to Canada in 1957, with his wife Ann and baby, Debbie. Don worked at Bombardier for 36 years. Don never took a day off work and at the same time managed to further his education at Concordia University. Don's career took him to many places in Europe: Germany, Austria, France, England, Italy, Switzerland.
Don was an accomplished dancer, motorbikes and planes were his passion, he was a history buff, and he loved camping and family gatherings.
In 1992, Don and his wife, retired and moved to the Comox Valley.
Don loved to tell stories and had incredible wit. He is a wonderful, kind man, a good Christian and he will live in our hearts forever.
Prayers will be offered with visitation and viewing on Friday, January 25th from 7 to 9 pm at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 1101 RYAN ROAD.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Christ The King Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, January 26th at 11:00 am with Father Paul Murphy, celebrant. Interment will follow at Courtenay Civic Cemetery.
Flowers gratefully declined in consideration of donations in Don's memory to the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, 2137 Comox Avenue, Comox, BC V9M 1P2, with preference to Palliative Care.
