Donald George Chouinard

August 9, 2006

Chouinard, Donald George

Sept 26, 1954 - Aug 9, 2006

Don was born in Quesnel on September 26,1954. He loved to play music and sing, writing lyrics and melodies for many of his own works; his Spanish guitar pieces were so beautiful they could make you cry. The people who he loved most dearly were his two beautiful girls, Adrienne and Deidre, and then most tenderly, his little granddaughter Allisen. (His little buttons) Don was a natural comedian, he knew a good joke for every occasion. How much all of us will miss his constant joking and sense of humor, as twisted as it may have been at times.

Don arrived in the Comox Valley in 1986, and this immediately became his home.

He started partnershhip at HERE Computers in 1994, as most people will remember him as the muscle bound guy in the back with the Bubble glasses. He was nicknamed Donny Danger, and for those of you who hung around with him obviously will know why he went by this. He left HERE Computers to head back up to the family business in Quesnel, B.C. September of 2005 and never stopped talking about coming back to his Valley home.

Donny will be sorely missed by all those people that were touched by his life, especially those that had the privilege to spend some quality time with this brilliant man.

He was an extremist in work, play and love—extreme should have been his middle name.

A funeral service was held in Quesnel on August 17, 2006. There will be a Celebration of his Life at the Whistle Stop pub (his favorite wing and beer place) at a date to be decided.

Don is survived by his mother Leonore and Paddy Scheck, his brothers: Bob, Mike, John and stepbrother Daniel, stepsisters: Loni and Shana, his daughters: Adrienne and Deidre, their mother Shelley and his granddaughter Allisen. Also many aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins. He is predeceased by his father George and brother Ron. He will be especially remembered and sorely missed by his other family, the staff at HERE Computers.
